Kim Kardashian is a high profile member of a family found on the E Network, called, “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, has given us a good reason. She got naked and was then painted in silver.

Kim is perhaps the most exposed of the Kardashian brood.  (Her step-father, Olympic great Bruce Jenner, tends to wander about with a perplexed look on his heavily botoxed face).  Kim has recently done a fairly racy pictorial for W magazine and given the silver coating…DailyHelping would like to share these pictures with it’s discerning readership.

Selling the entertainment industry as well as the general public seems like territory not mined this well since the days of Andy Kaufman who could often stun close friends and family with his crazy wrestling and lounge lizard incarnations.

Phoenix grew a Taliban-quality beard and dressed shabbily. His interviews (most notable a barely coherent interview with David Letterman in 2008) sold everyone who saw them that “Hip-Hop” or not, the young actor had probably lost his mind.  It wasn’t unreasonable to believe the actor wasn’t serious, given his disappearance from the screen over time.

The documentary filmed by long time actor friend, Casey Affleck, has many scenes that are uncomfortable to watch. At one point in the film it appears as if Phoenix is having a nervous breakdown.  All staged. All filmed over and over until it was right. So effective has been this hoax that one has to wonder what possible professional fallout may come.

Though some participants were never made aware that a scam was going on…(apparently Letterman was clueless), every single frame of the film was fake. An early clip of what is said to be Joaquin as a child is also a fake.

“I’m Still Here” opened in New York two  weeks ago and will begin expanding into further markets.

One can only hope that now that the cat is out of the bag, that Phoenix is coming back to acting.  Crazy as he has to be to immerse himself into a character for two years,  but the guy is a talent.

A sad day in the Hip-Hop universe as Hollywood reclaims one of it’s own.

The well-know American pin-up girl represented the free-spirited post war optimism that was not entirely shared by Russia during the 40′s and 50′s.  Davis has blended the typical American poses with traditional Russian flavor both in it’s choice of models and props.  In her statement about the portfolio, she says:

“I am telling the story of a crisis of Russian national identity, and the frustration and confusion of self-identification with the Old Country, the New World and a diaspora caught between them. My goal is to bridge the gap and seduce the spectator with alluring imagery, trapping him into empathizing with a foreign element”.

Ms Mirren has been very busy as of late. She has a been doing publicity for the recently released and barely seen “Love Ranch”, a dismal story about the first legal Nevada brothel.  Her husband, director Taylor Hackford paired her with the great Joe Pesci and spent most of the publicity tour discussing the prospect of filming his wife in bed with another man.

In the interest of saving it’s readers some time and aggravation, the DailyHelping staff has compiled a short list of  “must see” films for anyone who wants to savor some of her lesser known, but always stimulating performances.

Age of Consent (1969), Dame Mirren’s first feature film and she’s spends a good amount of time naked.  It’s an artist seeking inspiration on a sun drenched beach tale and Helen is willing to inspire.

Excalibur (1981) is a stunning film from John Boorman. It’s the tale of King Arthur and the search for the Holy Grail. Helen Mirren leaves little to the imagination as the evil Morgana.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989) , not for the faint hearted, this is a must see film on it’s own merit. Luscious sets and cinematography add to the overall flavor of this quirky, at times grotesque film about a restaurant taken over by a vicious mobster. Put this at the top of any Helen Mirren list.

Having just turned 65 years of age, Helen Mirren continues to show no fear in baring her assets.  It takes a healthy bit of  personal confidence for any woman to strike a pose while in the tub, let alone for a pictorial in  “New York” magazine.

On Tuesday, Playboy Enterprises Inc. launched a website that will be cleaned up and safe to browse.  Even conscious of the implied message that their name and logo conjure, the site will go by a more palatable name.  TheSmokingJacket.com. (More like Hef, less like the Girls Next Door)

TheSmokingJacket.com will contain no nudity instead go with  humor to reach Playboy’s target demographic, men 25 to 34 years old. They also tend to send a lot of cartoons and jokes online.

“A lot of our audience logs on (to Playboy.com) after work and we saw that we were missing a golden opportunity to reach guys when they’re online the most: when they’re sitting at their desk, not working, sending e-mails to their friends,” said Jimmy Jellinek, Playboy’s editorial director.

The site, named after one of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s favorite pieces of clothing (silkpajamas.com was taken), won’t include the long interviews or in-depth articles found in Playboy. Think People magazine but more fun.

The site will still tease. This is still Playboy, after all and man doesn’t live on dirty viral jokes and Axe ads alone .  There will be  some pictorials that are relatively tame by comparison to the parent online magazine Playboy.com. the Playboy archives with photographs like those from the 1983 Playmate Playoffs, in which bathing suit-clad women competed in games such as a tug-of-war. The idea that you can just forget about the site while at work is somewhat foolish as well. The large print article headers still boldy declare that they can provide you with “7 Signs You’ve Given Up On Getting Laid”.

“The ideal is to be … the go-to site for those who are bored at work,” said Matt Gibbs, the lead producer of the site.

Because “Playboy” is just the kind of word that has companies putting up firewalls to keep their workers’ minds on their jobs, the only thing in the name that suggests Playboy is behind the site are the bunny ears inside the ‘o’ in “TheSmokingJacket.”

The site will be updated continually in the hopes that men will return to it throughout the work day.
