How do you ensure that you can get lots of  men to the theater to see  a movie about ballet?

It helps to have an edgy, hot director, and in this case it’s The Wrestler‘s Darran Aranofsky. He focuses on a dancer with a New York troupe, and all the in-fighting and back-stabbing that goes on over the lead role in an upcoming production of Swan Lake.

Rest easy, this isn’t another Mickey Rourke vehicle.

Set to star in this battle in tights is Natalie Portman (V for Vendetta and Star Wars 1, 2 and 3) and Mila Kunis, (Forgetting Sarah Marshall and That 70′s Show). The buzz on this film is that they engage in an “aggressive and angry sex scene”.  Yea, just the two of them.

Kunis is on the publicity tour for her comedy “Extract” but there are apparently plenty of questions about her upcoming ballet film.  As you would expect, she’s keeping quiet, though she hasn’t denied that such a scene will be in Black Swan.

“I’m not allowed to talk about the script yet, but I’m excited to work with Natalie. I’ve known her for some time,” she said.

As if this were some compensation, she shares some insight into the rigors of ballet training. 

“I’ve been studying for the past month, 7 days a week, 4-5 hours a day of doing ballet cardio and pilates and I have 2 more months before choreography begins. This ballet I’m doing you can’t fake it,” she explained. “Your body has to be structured differently, your hips have to be turned out, your shoulders have to be turned in, everything in your body is not natural, so I’m learning everyday.”

Aranofsky isn’t one to skimp on authenticity so one can assume Portman is working up a sweat on set as well.
