Like most everyone else, The Daily Helping loves Samuel L Jackson. He’s like Michael Cain in that he’ll sign on to do any movie that won’t conflict with the shooting schedule of another. Sometimes his roles are fantastic (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Unbreakable) and sometimes they’re downright laughable, (xXx, Snakes on the Plane, Black Snake Moan).

Fans of S.L Jackson will be thrilled to hear that he’s recently signed an nine-picture deal with Marvel Pictures to play cigar chomping, bad ass Nick Fury. Nine pictures. Talk about job security.

Apparently there was a brief cameo involving the character in the Robert Downey Jr. hit, Ironman.  Personally, I don’t recall the scene, and for those who want to take a look, here it is.

The Fury character won’t necessarily be the lead in those nine movies, but rather he’ll be a re-occurring  presence in upcoming vehicles like the next Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers, to name a few.

This is going to be a glorious time for comic book fans and Samuel L. Jackson will play a major part of the process.
