And so it begins. My long time envy of those who put out entertaining and creative blogs has culminated in a site of my own. It took the perseverance of two friends and their savvy with the web to help me get to this very modest start.

Most would put a Mission Statement here. I don’t really like Mission Statements.

I think the only one I ever liked was the one they gave to the USS. Enterprise about going “boldly where no one had gone before…” and stuff like that. I don’t expect that I’ll be finding new universes (don’t ask about Uranus!), but I do hope I can cultivate a nice place to discuss a wide range of subjects. The title of this blog is Daily Helping, and I’m hoping I didn’t put myself behind the 8-Ball by implying new content each day.

I’ll do my best, but it shouldn’t be a problem. There’s a lot to discuss here at Daily Helping. This is a place to discuss Film, Television, Literature, Theatre and Sports. It’s hard not to discuss the state of the nation and politics. I don’t want to be a vanilla site either and I believe Daily Helping is going to touch on more adult subject matter. If you’re offended by nudity or salty language then this may not be a place for you.

I welcome you to Daily Helping with a picture of Salma Hayak. It’s a favorite picture of one of the great loves of my life. (If not for a restraining order, we’d probably be spooning on my futon watching “Top Chef” right now.
